A better way to design a fuel oil day tank!
Steady Sate Fuel Systems intends to change the way our industry transfers fuel from a main storage tank to an emergency generator. Our system solves fuel storage space concerns, fuel filtration requirements and minimizes fuel oil design complexity in one package by eliminating complexities associated with traditional day tank systems. SSFS is the perfect choice for a modular, reliable day tank that minimizes fuel code requirements in fire rated rooms. No vents to the exterior are required. The duplex pump package is the choice for a redundant day tank for your emergency generator.

DownloadThis line diagram explains how Steady State Fuel Systems allows fuel to be supplied, unused fuel from the generator cooled down and fuel from the main tank filtered, using a continuous loop. The amount of fuel stored in the supply tank can be as little as 14 gallons, which minimizes the footprint. The system does not require any electric valves or level switches to operate.
Traditional Day Tanks require various components like solenoids, electric valves, and level switches to operate. Our system eliminates the need for these devices, reducing points of failure and maintenance costs.
Our system has a small footprint that only requires one dedicated single phase circuit.
It will support up to a 3 MW gen set and keeps fuel oil cool with a cross flow heat exchanger.
Our system does not require any level switches or electrically actuated valves to operate. Each one of these valves represents a wear point and ultimately a potential failure as they must cycle on/off (change state) continuously during the power outage.
The SSFS system includes an optional high efficiency filtration system for both particulates and water absorption. Using water capture technology our system removes free water from the fuel at a relatively high velocity, ensuring better generator performance and longevity.
Because our system changes state less frequently, there are fewer opportunities for failure which increases overall reliability. We are passionate about the endurance created when deploying a more natural design philosophy. Our system’s operation is simple with fewer moving parts. When the power goes out our system starts up and runs for the duration of the outage.
